Redwolf Named Sportsman of 2015

A Maidstone first-team defender and Canterbury Christ Church University student was named ‘Sportsman of the Year’ recently at the 2015 CCSU Sports Federation dinner.

Maidstone 1s defender Jesse Chedotal made the Redwolves proud recently when he picked up the prestigious ‘Sportsman of the Year’ award at the annual Christ Church Students’ Union Sports Federation Dinner.

“The Sports Fed Dinnner is a chance for all our Christ Church teams to get together and this year’s event took place on Wednesday 11th March at the Margate Winter Gardens. A great night was had by all and […] congratulations to everyone who took part!” – source.

Jesse has gone from strength to strength in a small amount of time since he picked up the sport in his first year at Canterbury Christ Church University, first stepping off the rugby pitch and onto the Lacrosse field in 2012 to then go on to represent France in the 2014 World Lacrosse Championship in Denver, USA. Jesse now plays defence for the Maidstone Redwolves 1st team in the SEMLA East 1 division.

The Redwolves are proud to play host to several players including Chris Griffiths, Dennison Packer, Joey Burnett, Matt Vause, and Tom Purton to name a few who have all received awards in recognition for their part in Lacrosse at Canterbury Christ Church University over the years, previously being commended for their effort and contribution, for their dedication to the sport, and for their commitment to the development of the club.

Maidstone also recognises the achievements and efforts of its players at our own awards ceremony, usually taking place alongside our annual team dinner. Head over to our Honours page to see previous winners.
